Banminth

Banminth worming paste 24 g is suitable for the treatment of worm infections in dogs caused by threadworms and hookworms. The paste paralyzes the muscle cells of the worms so that they are no longer able to maintain in the stomach or intestine and will be extruded by the host.

The active ingredient in Banminth is pyrantel (7,5 mg per gram of paste). Pyrantel is relatively insoluble and is only slightly absorbed from the intestine into the body. The  operation is limited to the parasites which are present in the intestine. The small amount of pyrantel that has been included in the body of the animal will be rapidly broken down and is non-toxic.

Dosage: administer one-off 5 mg pyrantel per kg body weight. This is equivalent to 2 grams of paste  from the tube. See also the size calibration on the box. The content of one tube of 24 grams is enough for 36 kg body weight.

Banminth paste is for oral administration and can be mixed with food or directly be administrated to the dog with the aid of a finger, spatula or spoon. Fasting is not necessary.

How often should dogs be wormed?

The ESCCAP (European Scientific Counsel Companion Animal Parasites) recommends deworming adult dogs an average of 4 times a year. Puppies should be wormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age, then every month until they are six months old.

Treatment schedule
Pups up to the age of 12 weeks:
–    worming weekly from the 2nd week of life until 2-3 weeks after weaning, then every 14 days.

Dogs over 12 weeks:
–    Males:    – worming every 3 months
–    Females: – after every mating season at 2,4 and 6 weeks
                   – outside these periods worming every 3 months
                   – lactating females always simultaneously worming with the pups

Use during pregnancy and lactation
Banminth can be used in pregnant or lactating females.

Special warnings
In connection with possible skin irritation and hypersensitivity reactions direct skin contact should be avoided.

Storing
Store below 25 degrees Celsius and not in the fridge or freeze. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

    wirksam und gut verträglich

    Ich habe Banminth Pasta zur Entwurmung meiner Welpen verwendet.
    So wie in der Packungsbeilage beschrieben. Die Paste wurde ohne Probleme mit dem Futter aufgenommen. Nach 2 Tagen war die Geschichte mit den Spulwürmern erledigt. Sehr zu empfehlen.
